About the Department
Department of IDE established since 2017 to incorporate the Recommendation given by Fifth Dean’s committee (ICAR) regarding the strengthening of teaching and research in the direction of latest irrigation techniques and drainage problem of the agricultural field for improving the water productivity. This Department is mainly engaged in teaching to undergraduate and post graduate students.
The research project based on local and future needs of the farmers, field engineers and entrepreneurs are given to the final year undergraduate and postgraduate students as a part of their academic research work. Department is having Irrigation Laboratory and Drainage Laboratory to provide practical knowledge to the students and to demonstrate and organize training to farmers and field engineers, entrepreneurs etc. Many farmers, women and local peoples, NGO and others often visit the department to gain knowledge of different irrigation and drainage engineering aspects.
