Human Nutrition

Nutritional science has roots in biological science and is planned to promote an understanding about Food, Nutrition and Dietetics for the benefit of human health.

Department of Nutrition at polytechnic offers subjects based on human nutrition, public health and community nutrition, nutrition for specific group, specific conditions – diabetes, cancer etc. That covers availability of nutrients from food, its digestion, absorption and utilization and based on that physical growth, development and productivity, immune competence etc. 

It includes practical knowledge related to food ingredients, their nutritional components and individual importance in human body, effect of environmental factors & physical agents on the structural composition of nutrients also.
