The Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and UTs of DNH, Div & Daman are the clientele states of the Extension Education Institute, Anand. Govt. of India initially funded the Extension Education Institute, Anand through the "Ford Foundation". At the time of its commencement, it was functional under the administrative control of Institute of Agriculture, Anand (IOAA). From 1972, with the merger of the IOAA with the Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU), Sardar Krushinagar, the Extension Education Institute, Anand governed by the GAU rules. At present, with the establishment of Anand Agricultural University (AAU), Anand from May 1, 2004, the Extension Education Institute, Anand is managed by the rules of AAU and financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
